Here's a small example of our Gulf Coast Sheep  

    The days are certainly full on Durbin Ridge Farm. We started shearing May 14th and will begin to sell our wool right away. Before you know it the oats will be ready to combine, market lambs will be big enough to sell and fall hay will be ready. Then there's breeding season and walnut harvesting and on it goes.  Let's not forget the constant equipment repairs and upkeep,
our internet business & fun with the our 11 grandchildren.  
Life is full and we are very blessed. 

   We have been raising Gulf Coast Sheep since 1983, wow that's 24 years - but it seems like yesterday. We got our start with 5 ewes and a ram from Dempsey & Brenda Perkins and the next year added a few more and so on. We also got all of our rams from the Perkins Farm. We have been supplying Gulf Coast Sheep stock to folks across the Midwest and as far as New Mexico & Colorado. Last year we sold out of wool, lambs, rams and breeding stock. So this year we increased our herd to meet the
demand for breeding stock and market lambs as well as wool and look forward to an exciting year sharing our
sheep with folks from all over the Midwest. 

   Gulf Coast Sheep are ideal for starting in the sheep business. They are low maintenance sheep and ideal for pasture lambing and do not need the help of a shepherd. They are also wonderful mamas. They are perfect for both beginners as well as an experienced shepherd. It's a great way to add a little diversity to a family farm. 

   We have put together a small photo section of sheep from spring 2006 to present.
